COUNSELING

Do you always feel overwhelmed?  Like you are never enough?  Is your day-to-day filled with things you don't even like?  Do you feel like you want to give up?

Sometimes it is hard to understand what is happening in our lives. Fast-paced living and daily struggles make it difficult for us to stop and observe how we feel. A simple conversation with a certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor will help you to open up and begin to understand the problems you are facing and why you handle situations and feelings the way you do.

ABOUT

CASSEY THOMAS, CMHC

I am a certified Mental Health Counselor with over 20 years of experience.  Early in my career, I was a Middle School Counselor.  Next, I worked at LDS Family Services.  I was presented with a variety of mental health issues, such as personal relationships (individual, couples, family), trauma, anxiety, dpression, mood disorders, personality disorders, addictions (alcohol, substances, eating, sexual). Today, I have established my own personal practice, which I began over 10 years ago. My education includes a BA in Psychology at the University of Utah.  I received my MA in Educational Counseling and completed the CMHC requirements at the University of Phoenix.

I work with adolescents (12-18), young adults, and adults.  I use eclectic therapy, with a specialized cognitive behavioral approach.  Eclectic therapy is a type of psychotherapy tailored to fit the exact needs of the individual seeking treatment. Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) is an effective treatment approach for a range of mental and emotional health issues and trauma, including anxiety and depression. CBT aims to help you identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts and to learn practical self-help strategies.
